If you spent July traveling or being stuck in a funk (I did a little bit of both), then maybe you forgot to do mid-year reset.
If you think that it’s too late now for that, then you can take a deep breath. There’s still time to refocus and make the best out of the rest of 2025.
Actually, August is a very good time for a mid-year reset. Why? Because you still have full five months left in the year, and, if you’re anything like me, you might be feeling more motivated as we get closer to the end of the summer – either because of a fresh season approaching or being affected by the “back-to-school” energy.
You probably need a mid-year reset if…
- You feel overwhelmed by your routines, goals, and daily tasks.
- You’re stuck when it comes to your yearly goals and nothing feels like it’s working well for you.
- You’re indifferent when it comes to some of your goals and feel like they don’t align with your life vision anymore.
- You’ve gone through some big and unexpected changes that shifted your priorities.
- You want to be completely intentional with how you spend the rest of this year.

5 action steps to start your mid-year reset today
1) Revisit your yearly goals and vision board
It’s time to think about what works and what doesn’t work for you anymore. Take an honest look at your goals. Which ones are still meaningful to you? Which ones can you push to next year? Is it time to let go of those that seem to be irrelevant at this point in your life? Also, is there any new goal you’d like to focus on? Then, you don’t have to wait for 2026 – you can start working on it right now.
If you want to be really serious about your goals (of course you want!) then, you have to make them achievable. Break them into smaller tasks, create a solid action plan about your most important ones and start focusing on that.
If you feel lost or overwhelmed, it’s a good idea to prioritize your three most important goals and focus just on them. Three completed goals are better than a long list of unfinished ones.
As for your vision board, take your time to look at it and find out if it still reflects your dream life. If not, create a new mid-year vision board to help you realign and stay inspired.

2) Reflect on the last 7 months
It’s time to grab a notebook or open a doc on your computer and get serious about what has happened until now. What has worked for you and what hasn’t? Did you achieve any of your goals? Is there anything that really doesn’t seem right for you? Is your life vision still the same? If not, in what ways has it changed and how can you adjust your goals to match it?
If this year hasn’t been kind to you and you haven’t made the progress you’d like, please, be gentle with yourself. Life happens, and it’s okay if you haven’t been able to be as consistent with your goals as you wanted. There’s still plenty of time to make things right, and move forward.
3) Declutter your space
These days, I’m overwhelmed by my belongings. Everything around me feels at least a little bit cluttered. So, I’ve started decluttering slowly and intentionally. If you’re feeling similar, decluttering your space can be beneficial for your mid-year reset. A cluttered space often leads to a disorganized mind.
Tidy up and let go of things that you don’t use or need anymore. That way, you’re resetting your space and making room for the new energy.

4) Remember your “why”
If you’re still not feeling motivated enough for a mid-year reset or working on your goals, it’s time to remember why you wanted to achieve those things in the first place.
It’s time for brainstorming! What are your priorities right now, and why? Why did you set those goals in the first place, or why you’re setting new goals now? How will you or your life improve after you achieve them? What the benefits will be for you?
Once you’ve established your “why” and you’re confident about it, it’ll be easier to put in the work.
5) Reset your routines and create new ones
It’s all about taking back control of your life. Routines are crucial when it comes to being productive, mindful, and physically and mentally regulated. It’s time to take a step back and reflect on your current routines. Are they still serving your higher purpose?
If not, switch things up, so they actually become beneficial for your personal growth. Your morning and night routines don’t have to follow social – media trends. They should fit your lifestyle.
If you’re struggling with routines, start small, and don’t bother with more than two or three steps. You can add things when you become more comfortable with them.
3 bonus tips to make the process easier
1) Work on your mindset
If you want to be successful when it comes to your goals, it’s a good idea to work on the way you think and react at the situations around you.
Stay positive and control your stress responses. Those little shifts will be beneficial for your personal growth and keep your nervous system balanced.
2) Keep track of the small wins
Most of us tend to be strict with ourselves and completely ignore our good moments. If this sounds familiar, it’s not too late to change it.
Remember to not hyperfocus on the things that don’t seem to work for you. Recognize your wins and progress no matter how small they seem, and take it one step at the time.
3) Find an accountability partner
Having a friend or a romantic partner, someone, you can turn to when you’re in need for some support or venting can be extremely helpful.
Talk to the people who love you about your goals and aspirations. Be open about your dreams, and let them into your world. That way, you’ll be able to ask them for support or celebrate together your big accomplishments!
