We’re already in the middle of spring and past the Easter celebrations. Time is definitely passing fast, and as we’re approaching summer, many people tend to feel the need to prepare for it and take better care of themselves. Besides that, spring feels like the perfect season to practice self-care since it’s connected to rebirth and blooming.
How did winter treat you this year? Personally, I feel a little drained and tired. That’s probably because I spent a month away from home and fell sick twice. Even though I had a good time abroad, I neglected my routines and habits.
In April, I’ve been focusing more on self-care and good habits, and that’s what we’ll talk about today.
Self-care is not only about pampering. In my mind, it’s about treating ourselves with more care, love, and mindfulness. When I’m being more mindful with how I treat myself, I notice many positive changes in both my physical and mental health.
In this post, I’m sharing 6 spring self-care ideas that could make a difference in your daily life.
1) Build a skincare routine
After traveling, my skin has been breaking out and suffering a little. I saw it coming because recently I’ve had a lot of sugar and alcohol, neglected hydration and haven’t been the most consistent with my skincare routine. This month, I’ve been focusing on it though, and luckily, I’ve already started seeing a difference.
Having a consistent skincare routine will make your skin healthier – but there are more benefits than that. It’ll boost your confidence, and it’s a lovely way to show care to yourself. Personally, it also helps me set the tone for the day since I tend to feel more motivated to get ready for the day ahead after my morning skincare.

2) Spend more time outside
The weather is getting warmer and the days are brighter, and it’s a lovely opportunity to spend more time outside. Take a walk, have a picnic, walk your dog, go to a farmer’s market, or just explore a place you haven’t been before. We tend to spend so much time at home during winter that it’d be a pity to not take advantage of the good weather.
Spending more time in nature and getting sunlight will boost your mood, make you feel more grounded, and have a soothing effect in case you’re feeling stressed or anxious.
3) Romanticize your life
The season or rebirth is a lovely opportunity to treat your daily life with more optimism. It’s time to appreciate where you stand in life. Take a pause, silence the distractions, and observe your surroundings.
Treat your life and its daily moments as something valuable, because they truly are. You can romanticize your life by listening to music, creating art, dressing up for no reason, spending time with loved ones, watching a movie with your phone on silent, trying a new recipe.
There are so many ways to create magic in our mundane lives if we just dare to break the routine and get out of our comfort zones.
4) Spring clean your bedroom
If your bedroom feels messy and cluttered all the time (or if you just need a change), then this season is the best time to deep-clean and reset your space. I’m not sure what happened in winter, but my bedroom felt like a total mess when I got back from my trip. I couldn’t relax or feel at ease anymore in it, so I spent a lot of time tidying it this week – and I’m still not done.
If you don’t know where to start, tidy your winter clothes away and add a few plants and colors to freshen up your space. Your bedroom should be a sacred space – a room you are able to reset, recharge, and relax after a long day.
5) Find a cozy hobby
Spring can be all about enjoying life and nurturing ourselves. One of the best ways to treat yourself with care is to spend time on your hobbies. Hobbies are essential to everyone’s life and it’s proven it helps with stress management and enhances creative abilities.
So, find a cozy hobby and be consistent with it – seriously. Treat it like an important appointment that you couldn’t afford to miss! Cozy hobbies include knitting, coloring, writing, bullet journaling, baking – and the list goes on.
Currently, my favorite ones are playing cozy games (Stardew Valley I’m looking at you) and coloring.

6) Unplug from social media
The other day, I decided to temporarily deactivate my personal Instagram, and it’s been a game changer. No more mindless scrolling, constant distractions, and pointless comparisons.
A digital detox is always a good idea, and it can help you spend more time doing other, more important, things like reading, connecting with loved ones, working on that project you’ve been neglecting, and going out more.
Maybe it’s just time to spend more time experiencing life than just observing it through others’ photos.
I hope you enjoyed my new post, and thank you so much for reading it. What’s your self-care plan for this spring? Feel free to let me know in the comments!
