Monday Coffee with Danae #4 – Finding Peace in the Mess

September 15, 2025September 15, 2025 Danae 1 comment

Happy Monday!

It’s time for our Monday coffee! Get your beverage and get comfortable so we can talk. What are you having today? For me, it’s just another iced coffee (a freddo cappuccino) day, but I’ve sincerely started craving hot beverages.

I truly hope that this week is more productive and just better than the previous one for all of us. There’s a partial solar eclipse coming on September 21, so if you feel the energy being a little heavy or weird, that might be partially because of the phenomenon.

Anyway, it’s already the middle of September and the weather in Greece still feels like early summer. The temperature has been around and a little over 30C every single day, and only today it’s been slightly below it – a miracle!

Messy house equals messy schedule

We’re painting the house! That means everything is all over the place, and I can’t really plan my days or my goals and projects efficiently this week. At times, it’s an overwhelming experience but it’s nice seeing the house changing for the better and I know that the end result will be worth it.

Luckily, my bedroom is something like my safe haven since it’s the only room that doesn’t really need painting. So, I always have a place to retreat to.

Let’s normalize that improving mental health is as important as other goals

I have a tendency to neglect my mental health at times. I always get busy or distracted by other things, and then, I just don’t end up prioritizing it. Now that I’ve been experiencing anxiety on and off though, I’ve remembered how important is to care not only about our physical but also our mental well-being.

It’s going to be a long, busy, and messy week – it’d be unrealistic to set any big goals right now. I’ll try to meditate at least twice this week, and journal as often as possible about how my days go and how I feel.

It’s always important to stay on top of things and remember to get out of survival mode. Life is more than working, completing tasks, and creating long to – do lists. There are times we just hyperfocus on these aspects of life and forget what’s truly important such as the connection to our inner self and others.

I’ll be happy if I reach 10k words this week

So, my monthly goal is to write 15k words – that’s actually the biggest monthly word count goal I’ve ever set! Now, I know that some writers can manage 15k words in a day (congrats, but how?), but that’s not the case for me. Even though I’ve been writing for 15 years or so, I usually don’t write a lot of words in a sitting. Basically, I’ve been training myself so I can improve.

I’m currently around 7k, so I’d like to hope that I can reach 10k words until the end of this week. Here’s hoping!

-I know it’s more a matter of prioritizing than hoping, no worries!-

What about my spiritual health?

That’s another aspect of myself I’ve neglected – and honestly, didn’t everything just go downhill after I got into my previous job? Welp, we can talk about that later and in a different post.

The thing is, when was the last time I connected to my crystals? Or asked my cards for advice? Or did shadow work? You don’t know, and that’s normal. The problem is that I don’t know either.

I have the internal need to get slowly back to these things. I remember how I used to feel when I cared for my spiritual health. I’d feel peaceful, happy, even complete at times. I want to feel this way again.

So, thank you for sharing your Monday coffee with me!

What are your thoughts and feelings on the new week? What are you planning to do? Feel free to let me know below in the comments!

I have a happy writing update to share - one I’d h I have a happy writing update to share - one I’d hoped I’d be able to for a little while! 🙏

Recently, I started working again on my book. My very first novel.

After a long period of going through some kind of writer’s block, it feels as exciting as you can probably imagine. 💗

In general, I’ve been feeling more connected to my creativity, and that’s the best way to conclude this spring.

You’ll find a pic of me soon after I started writing again, a pic of my document (yes, my book is in Greek), and a pic of my cute (and new) writing buddy! 🌸🍄
